Technical information Brow sers This application work s fastest on Mozilla Firefox. Users m ay experience screen changes and other issues depending on the browser used - in Firefox this m ay be a ‘cache’ issue. The cache m ay be em ptied in Firefox using the following steps: ? Click Tools in the upper toolbar and select Options. ? Click the Advanced icon. ? Click the Network tab. ? In the Offline Storage section, click Clear now . ? Click OK. Exit and re-launch the browser. These steps are for Version 8.0 and m ay differ slightly depending on the version of Firefox. Cookies Please ensure cook ies are enabled in the browser. On the Login page there is a link to instructions to enable this. Accessing the Web Logbook Login Once the Logbook s team advises that your profile has been set up in Logbook s, you can access the application b y c om pleting the following steps: ? Go to the College website (www.surgeons.org). ? Click the Login button. ? Enter your College Login. ? Click the Research & Audit tab. ? Select Logbooks from the Research & Audit tab m enu. ? Click the Logbooks button. ? The browser opens in a separate window/tab and launches the W eb Logbook . ? Click the Login button. ? The W eb Logbook Journal view appears. To set up your account inform ation please refer to Section 3 – Initial setup. Switch profile Bulletins Navigation tabs Timeout Data filter Button bar Radio buttons Page traversal Bulletins Bulletins are displa yed on every page in the W eb Logbook . The Bulletins window displa ys a scrolling list of the bulletins that are active for the current user. Button bar The W eb Logbook features a comm on set of function buttons. The functions var y according to the user profile. Data filter A data filter appears at the top of the page wherever there is a list of item s that can be filtered. The filter window can be ex panded at any tim e to reveal m ore filtering options b y click ing the expand arrows at the right of the window. You can collapse the filter window back again b y click ing the collapse arrows at the right of the window. A filtered page of results can be viewed b y selecting values from the drop-down lists and/or typing k eywords in Look For and then click ing Search. If Clear is click ed, the filter will be cleared and all item s will be displa yed in the list. The records-per-page filter will retain its settings even after the Clear button is click ed. This setting can onl y be changed manuall y.
