This manual will show you how to use your FujiFilm Digital Camera FinePix S1000fd-Owner's correctly. Pease follow the instructions carefully. You can use the xD-Picture Card, the SD Memory Card and the SDHC Memory Card with the FinePix S1000fd. In this Owner's Manual, these cards are expressed as "Memory Card" and "SD Memory Card". Compatible batteries : AA-size alkaline batteries (4), AA-size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (4) (sold separately), or AA-size lithium batteries (4) (sold separately). If you want to use the camera powered by AC, the AC power adapter, AC-5VX (sold separately), are necessary. Refer to the manual provided with the AC-5VX and CP-04 for instructions. Intelligent Face Detection automatically focuses on a face(s). However, difficulties will occur with the Intelligent Face Detection mode in the following situations : - The face is obscured by glasses, sunglasses, a hat or hair. - A person turned sideways, or who has their head tilted. - The subject is too far away to recognize a face. Intelligent Face Detection will not work in cases where the subject is standing on his/her head, is not a person (pet or other animal, or if the camera is not held correctly. Use AF/AE lock to guarantee best result when shooting a subject that is not suited to autofocusing. Caution:when taking a picture in AF/AE lock, cancel Intelligent Face Detection. AF/AE lock can be applied repeatedly before the shutter is released. On FinePix S1000fd, pressing the shutter button down halfway locks the focus and exposure settings (AF and AE lock). Auto is the easiest mode for providing crisp and clear shots. Use this mode for ordinary photography. N-Natural light is mode that produces beautiful images that reatin the natural ambience when shots are taken in low-light conditions. This mode is also ideal for shooting indoor or situations where the flash cannot be used. Camera sets the high-sensitivity setting when selecting the Natural light mode. This mode is effective for reducing camera shake and moving-subject blurring when taking pictures in low-light conditions. Flash cannot be used in the natural light mode. You can take panoramic pictures by stiching 3 pictures into a panoramic scene. Program AE is an automatic mode to specify the settings except for the shutter speed and aperture setting. This is a simple way to take picture sht same as the Aperture -priority auto (A) and Shutter-priority auto (S) modes.
